Kiosks

Power Bar

Kiosks represent one of the fastest growing applications for membrane pressing due to low tooling costs and the ability to overcome damage and field maintenance problems inherent with traditional surfacing techniques.

Kiosks fabricated of routed MDF board that is membrane-pressed, flat-laminated, miter-folded or profile-wrapped with scratch and mar resistant film exhibit outstanding resistance to damage and, compared with kiosk housings of heavy-gauge plastic or painted sheet metal, are easier to repair quickly in the filed at low cost by simply replacing a damaged panel.

Our process offers the ultimate in 3-dimensional design freedom. Virtually any shape can be CNC routed into a wood substrate, from compound curves and safe, rounded corners to sharp details. Brand identification can be faithfully reproduced by membrane pressing.

Because parts are seamless, they appear to be machined from solid surfaces while enabling designers to create shapes that minimize the possibility of injury to the user or damage to the kiosk.

Store Fixtures

Retailers expect store fixtures to combine attention-getting style with workhorse durability at affordable prices. Membrane pressing eliminates the need to compromise as this process combines qualities not previously offered by a single surfacing material, allowing 3-dimensional shapes with seamless finishes never before feasible for components intended for retail environments.

Finished components are stylish and can withstand the wear and tear inflicted by retail staffs, customers and store merchandise at costs comparable with high-pressure laminates, veneers, paints and powder coatings.

Hospitality

Furniture for hotels, motels, time-shares and condominiums needs to look residential, but wood veneers cannot withstand the high traffic and rough treatment of these environments without scratching, marring, staining or delaminating.

Also, wood veneer is a natural product with lot-to-lot variations that can cause inconsistencies and preclude replacement of damaged components. And because veneer can only bend in one direction, components of hospitality furniture are generally slab-sided with sharp damage-prone corners and edges.

Membrane pressing overcomes the practical drawbacks of wood veneer while actually improving on its aesthetic appeal.
